By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Totally makes sense

I now have three cars with By Miles, all cover less than 1,000 a year. By Miles has pretty much halved my car insurance costs, it also means I can now have them insured when sat; previously I would swap around policies if vehicles were stored, leaving them uninsured if the worst were to happen.
