Ethical, and so Supportive !

I love saving with a building society that does specific, practical things for the environment, and for housing (both so badly needed). Ethical - no investments in bombs or fossil fuels! The people who work for it are lovely! When I ring up to ask questions, I always get patient, friendly help and clear answers. Sure, the interest rate offered is modest - but this is outweighed by the peace of mind Ecology Building Society offers its customers. Reviewed on: 10th November 2024

An excellent provider!

I have had savings with the Ecology for many years now. Not only do they provide excellent customer service, the business is rooted in what is needed by customers and non-customers alike; the planet as a whole benefits from the way that The Ecology conduct business. We have been with the Ecology Building Society for nearly two decades as it offer very personal and tailored advice and support on savings and mortgages that do not cost the earth. Reliable, accountable approachable and green

I have had an ISA with the Ecology Building Society for many years and I would recommend them because I feel they are doing honest things with my money. Their values accord with mine and the newsletter and conference (I have been once) create inspiration and transparency. They are not too big that it feels corporate and they are trustworthy. Ethical investments in the north!

I was looking for an ethical way to save with easy online access, preferably one supporting worthwhile causes in the north. Although applications (for new members) are still in hard copy, once this well-explained process is completed, online access is easy. The application was straight-forward, the account information is easy to read and understand, and, notwithstanding Covid complications which delayed things slightly, the account was opened without undue delay. Banking for people and planet

I am highly satisfied with the Ecology Building Society, because the staff proivdes excellent advice and guidance, my money is invested to benefit people and planet, the society is completely transparent about its business and there is a pay ratio between the highest and lowest paid employee of only 5:1 which is exemplary for other building societies and banks.
