Ethical, and so Supportive !

I love saving with a building society that does specific, practical things for the environment, and for housing (both so badly needed). Ethical - no investments in bombs or fossil fuels! The people who work for it are lovely! When I ring up to ask questions, I always get patient, friendly help and clear answers. Sure, the interest rate offered is modest - but this is outweighed by the peace of mind Ecology Building Society offers its customers. Reviewed on: 10th November 2024

Impressive commitment

We first invested in the EBS nearly 40 years ago, when it was quite newly founded. The society has always been good to work with, with helpful staff and a great commitment to putting its funds to work in an environmentally sound way, often helping worthwhile projects that would otherwise struggle for financial support. It's been a pleasure to see the EBS grow while staying true to its principals. It's impressive too that senior staff have stuck with their principles, knowing that they would be capable of much higher remuneration elsewhere. Reviewed on: 12th March 2021

My savings work for people and the environment

I have been saving with the Ecology for years and it has always been a 'feel good' experience. The interest rates have been very decent and their newsletters have kept me informed of how my money is being used to help people build or renovate their homes in an environmentally conscious way, serving everyone and the planet. Years of excellent service

I found the Ecology Building Society over twenty years ago when looking for an ethical place to save money. Not only have they looked after and invested our money wisely in amazing projects, our association with them has led to exciting projects for our family. When they built their straw bale meeting room, the society invited members to help, and it was such a rewarding and memorable experience. Their newsletters are full of interesting and heartwarming information, and every interaction with the staff has been helpful and polite. (Even their AGM's are interesting!!) I can't fault them! Great ethical building society

I have been a member now for many years having left and joined numerous other bank and building society accounts along the way. The Ecology has consistantly offerred a good rate of interest, whilst also supporting the vaues I agree with. They still seem to operate in a friendly and approachable way. I love them.
