Bank account, app and website which works

Perfect bank account which just works. Great App and website, all very easy to use. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2024

Online app but most often need to call

Terrible service.

Terrible service. Online bank so only telephone contact. Takes ages to get through...always very busy apparently. You are passed on to someone else...lots of waiting and ghastly music. They cannot deal with query so passed on again. Long wait..we are very busy!!.. and more ghastly music. Eventually third person cannot give direct help so answer will be sent by second class post. WE have tried 5 times to get Power of Attorney and are now on 5 the activation code to be told there has been a problem First Direct end because someone forgot to update all the details. Great account to switch to

I switched to First Direct from HSBC and got a switching bonus, but also access to their savings account with 7% interest. I did have an issue shortly after the account was set up but customer service got back to me really quickly and sorted it out. Reviewed on: 2nd January 2024

First Direct First Class

Excellent customer service

I have been with First Direct for over thirty years. Their customer service is second to none and you can speak to a UK based person every time you call who always resolves your query. Never had any problems with them during this time. Their products are competitive, particularly the regular savings account. Reviewed on: 27th September 2023

Utterley Useless

I set up an account recently and then attempted to switch from my old co op account. Impossible! First of all when I tried to convert my account from sole to joint I was told 'no problem we can do it over the phone' and then when attempting this I was told we have to set up a whole new account jointly. Life's too short. A week later I tried again via the app which said to call if I want to switch from my joint account with co op to sole acc with FD. NOOO can't do that either. So realising they are as useless as my previous bank I told them to close account as I now have no intention of using them. Of course they said they couldn't do that either. You really couldn't make it up! So don't be fooled by these 'best bank' reviews. They really are completely useless. I'll stick with Co op. That's how bad First Direct are. Goodbye.
