With a Glasgow Credit Union loan, you can borrow up to £25,000. Once you’re a member, you can apply for a loan in app, online or by phone. You’ll need to save at least £10 per month into your Member Savings during the term.

Reliable, fast and friendly service

I've been a member since it was called Glasgow Council Credit Union and kept on my memberships after leaving to join the NHS. I've always had wonderful service and advice when I've been in contact either via telephone, email or in the office. The website and app makes it easy to track where you are at with payments and for requesting additional services. The loan process is fair and straight forward and I'm so thankful to the GCU as I possibly wouldn't have bee in able to get a loan for the size I did (for my wedding) elsewhere. I wouldn't use any other bank for services like loans and I'm considering using them for a mortgage as well. I would recommend GCU to anyone who wishes to save, take out loans or mortgages for their swift, reliable and friendly service. Reviewed on: 1st July 2022

I had to take out a loan urgently. Glasgow Credit Union processed the loan quickly and the repayment plan was reasonable. Since paying off the loan, I use my account for savings. Reviewed on: 14th May 2025

Positive loan experience.

Took out a loan. It was so easy and straight forward. I liked the way I could select different amounts on the ap to see what amount and repayment terms best suited my needs. Spoke to customer service staff also and they were really helpful and clear. Reviewed on: 14th May 2025

Best rate i could find

I borrowed money from the credit union. I was given a decision within a day or 2. The money was transferred quickly. I found the interest rate to be a lot less than mainstream banks. I liked that the credit union allowed me to borrow less than the minimum requirement of my other banks. I really liked that i could pay a little extra each month if i wanted too without being penalised. There was no issues and i would recommend this service to anyone as i believe the GCU are fair lenders with excellent policy. Excellent customer service for a Loan

I applied for a loan and thought I had submitted the application. However when I called it had not submitted. They took the information over the phone and proceeded with the application, decision and money was paid into in my account within the same day. Great to phone and speak to people directly and have an issue dealt with promptly and with excelllent customer service. Have recommended to family and friends that they join.
