Review of the Go Girl, Car insurance:

Huge hidden costs - bullying attitude to customers

1
Whilst the may appear to come out well on price caparison websites they are hidden costs which are not apparent initially. Every change to the policy has a premium cost which is not explained well - even to remove a named driver and twice they have threatened to cancel my policy. Like another reviewer when my daughter passed her driving test the charges were extortionate so I said I would just take her off. They then still wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount and said if I did't pay it my policy would be cancelled - even though she wasn't ever going to drive the car. There attitude can only be described as bullying. They supply very poor customer service and fail to explain all the hidden charges which are many. I would never use them again. Hidden excess for under 25

1
They have a young driver excess in theses policies which is added on top of voluntary and compulsory excess to make it an extortionate price. Mine went up to £550. Definitely not buying it, wouldn't recommend Reviewed on: 13th September 2017

AVOID !

1
AVOID! Very dissappointed! Go Girl was cheapest on Confused.com - I paid the deposit then wanted further documents proof of address etc. Result: they increased the price by £2,272.84.!! DEFINITELY UNBELIEVABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE! I stopped immediately being insured by them on the 20th day and I want to have my refund back for the remaining 10 days! Reviewed on: 8th September 2017

No after sales service

1
The customer service was terrible. I work in customer service so I know that sometimes this can be stressful, but their service is just appalling! I was put on hold for 20 minutes but one of their female representatives and all I wanted to do was a number plate change. I was then transferred onto a very abusive and aggressive female. Everyone I have spoken to seems to have no idea. On the phone all you could hear was the colleagues chatting amongst each other. I would recommend this company to no one, they do not have any after sales customer service and treat their customers with no respect. My advise would be to stay clear from this company! Cheapest Quote

I added my 17 year old son as a named driver on my policy when he was learning to drive and Go Girl was the cheapest quote for a young driver. Reviewed on: 21st July 2017

Cheap and inclusive

They were one of the few companies that would insure my 17 year old daughter. Premiums were only 100 pounds more than the existing policy. Reviewed on: 19th July 2017

Complete bullies

1
My daughter had an accident last Saturday and initially they handeled the claim really well. But we were not prepared for what was to come....... First phone call to my daughter because you are under 21 we have to double your excess from £250 to £500 Then she had a message from them asking her to ring them because a couple of days before the accident she had been let go form her job they were saying that she had to pay another £895 on top of her premium!! She has about 4 months left to run. She has since had 3 more messages and 3 emails about the same thing. She is upset enough about damaging her car without these insensitive insurance company. And they have said if she does not pay it within 7 days she will not get her car back, how is that legal. Avoid like the plague Reviewed on: 13th July 2017

Cheap to insure 17yo

Quote for adding a 17yo new driver ;earner was just about an extra 125 :) Reviewed on: 5th July 2017

extras

1
Wanted extra on top of quote just outside cooling off period had to cancel which cost me more !!! Reviewed on: 3rd July 2017

dishonest

1
Shocking company do not use! They intentionally waited until outside the 14day cooling off period tocharge an extra £80 and not accept my no claims history as it would not load into their portal as it was down ! vile people Reviewed on: 2nd July 2017

Cheap initially but loads of hidden costs

2
The price is very competitive but be warned there is effectively no cooling off period. If you cancel within 15 days even if the insurance has not come into force YOU WILL BE CHARGED AT LEAST £45. Make sure you actually read their terms and conditions which clearly state this and a lot more about very expensive charges for ANY changes. Also once they have taken your money you will be asked for loads of extra information which doesn't make this a hassle free insurance in my view. Customer service is mixed - to be fair some are very helpful others are not. I have just bought insurance cover at the end of March which doesn't come into force till mid April and well within the 14 day cooling off period I wanted to cancel because of all the extra questions and hassle but that will cost be £45 so I am stuck for the year. I really dread any accident and won't be using this firm again no matter what the price. Reviewed on: 30th March 2017
