Excellent, efficient, trustworthy and friendly

I've been with GWCU for years, both for savings and loans. Always had an excellent, friendly and helpful experience with them. They are trustworthy, very efficient and go above and beyond to help. Their interest rates in loans are fair and interest on savings is good. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. Reviewed on: 30th May 2025

a long time meber

i have found the credit union supportive for many local people who would otherwie be vulnerable to the loan sharks who are waiting to pounce. This dates back to the South West BATH c.u. and has continued andeveloped since the merger with Bristol C.U. Reviewed on: 11th June 2020

Supportive, Compassionate & non judgemental.

I lived on my own as a young teenager coming out of care in the 80s I had no financial support and what followed from this Was many years of being in debt. I lost my high street bank account in the middle of a financial crisis I felt totally abandoned by my bank, I was in a complete mess. I didn’t think I would ever be credit worthy but a Friend recommended Bristol Credit Union to me, I opened an account and saved a small amount of money for emergencies then applied for a loan to help me consolidate my debt. Bristol Credit Union agreeing to this loan changed my life, it took away all those sleepless nights worrying about finding the money, I could start to answer my phone again without being scared. Now I am debt free and making plans to renovate my home. I am so thankful for all the help and advise I have been given and have recommended them to friends & family it makes me feel proud that they help people and businesses in the local community, I would never again open a high street bank account. Friendly approachable and affordable

My experience with BCU has been completely an enjoyable experience, I was helped when I first joined with friendly patient staff which has always been there to help for any queries I might have, I have and will continue to recommend that any friends or family join BCU because at a time of need I had all the help and understanding I needed, I highly recommend it.
