Uncertainty principle!

Because of my job (self-employed/semi-retired) I am never certain about when I might be going abroad or where. Sometimes a job comes up abroad at short notice. On the other hand if there is no work on the horizon I am scared to take a holiday in case I miss a job opportunity, so holidays too can be grabbed at the last moment.
