If I could give 0 stars I would.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve never been able to use the card without it being declined. Every time I call the helpline I’m told “there’s no reason the payment can’t go through”. After arguing that there is obviously a reason for it, I get passed on to a different person so tells me an excuse and tells me the issue is fixed and hangs up. But the issue is not fixed and I end up having to call back and then I’m told a different excuse. The people on the phone don’t seem to know what they’re doing and will tell you excuse after excuse and contradict and repeat themselves over and over again. After trying to make one payment it finally went through after 3 days of calling them and only did it go through after a put an official complaint in. Again I am trying to use the card for a second payment and it’s declining. I’ve been on the phont on and off to them for the last three hours and every advisor has told me something different. One has even told me “it’s against our policy to use the card to pay to car services like you are trying to do” which is complete bullshit there is no restriction for this. Trying to tell me that the credit card cannot be used to car merchants such as Ford, mini, bmw etc that this is not allowed. Then the next advisor tells me that this is not true but again “there’s no reason why the payment can’t go through” but not accepting the fact that for some reason it is declining. So unhelpful, the card is shit and doesn’t even work. If you want to get a card with M&S bank just be prepared to have all payments declined and to spend 3-4 days on the phone arguing and arguing until they finally accept it and the staff will repeat the same useful shit over and over again. Excellent

I prefer Metro Bank because it's open on Sunday even and good for children to have Account in metro. Best bank in UK. Reviewed on: 3rd April 2023

Rubbish app

The app is awful !! I’ve been trying to move all my details over to my new device & nothing is made easy , then it locks you out!! I’ve never had any problems with other credit cards in the past only this one . Reviewed on: 26th March 2023

Useless

I got a credit card from M&S 3 months ago and since last week i tried to do a balance transfer and the customer service doesnt say if it is approved or not. i contacted the online chat and they said it was declined for a reason but noone contacted me. Again on Monday i tried and did the correct method and still nothing. i will cancel the credit card as there is no use to have a card that you cant use. M&S did a bad job with this, they should go back to selling clothes and exepnsive sandwishes :S Reviewed on: 24th March 2023

Awful, awful. Awful

Avoid at all costs! Their customer service is beyond terrible, in 15 years of having credit accounts I've never had an issue and in 8 months with M and S bank I've had 3 major issues. They are also incredibly cryptic with their payment dates to trick you into getting missed payment charges - my statement was dated January 27th and said my next due date was Feb 19th. I paid on Jan 27th, the second I read the statement. To my surprise I have a missed payment charge, customer service say "oh the statement is issued on the 27th so you have to pay on the 28th onwards for the next statement". I've never know a bank issue statements that request money on a date that falls within the previous month's payment window. I also had an order arrive with 50% of the items missing but they only partially refunded me, so they essentially stole my money after having to fight tooth and nail to even get the refund in the first place. I am still waiting

I applied for an M&S credit card and almost a month later I am still waiting! I have no debts so it should be straightforward but after calling the customer service multiple times and waiting for 40 to talk to a call centre manger, nothing. I found this review page out of curiosity If there are other ones like me which proved that they are. I have already applied for another one if ever this arrives it will not be activated. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CARD !! Your bank people are hopeless call centre employees! Reviewed on: 22nd February 2023
