Disappointed as a long- term customer

I recently fell foul of the dreaded terms and conditions. I bought some travel money online and used Applepay (on which my M&S card is the most used) so automatically used it to pay for the transaction. Not only did they charge me over £15 handling fee but they added interest on as well. I have been a fan of M&S but no longer. Reviewed on: 5th April 2025

Impossible to make balance transfers to new card.

Impossible to make balance transfers to this new card via the app or online. Tried loads of times with unspecified errors. Had to phone them up in the end. Didn't really give satisfactory explanation on phone as to why there were issues but they were aware of it going on for some time. Reviewed on: 5th April 2025

A very caring company.

A very caring company. If there is a problem it's possible to speak directly to a person instead of going online.In the past I have had reason to contact customer services and have always found them to be very helpful..I also value the treats and the points that are given throughout the year. All in all I would certainly recommend Marks and Spencer Bank. Reviewed on: 2nd April 2025

AVOID any financial products at all costs

AVOID ! Do not get a loan or credit card with M&S. worst service I have ever recieved since going on maternity leave . Told they had sent letters when they hadn’t . Was on a reduced payment due to maternity pay yet they push account into default anyway . Ruined credit rating which I’m now having to go through the FCA and ombudsmen to get rectified. The worst customer service I have ever encountered

M&S Bank (actually HSBC) without doubt the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The whole organisation is incompetent and indifferent. Even after they accepted a deal brokered by the Financial Ombudsmen and admitted their errors they are still persuing me for a non existent debt. They accepted me for a 20 month interest free credit card through snoop app. Also got a nice 20£ voucher for applying through snoop.The app is identical with HSBC app...which is not a bad thing. Contacting them is near impossible! Their sign in process is too complex. (HSBC based!) App and site are 'Olde-worlde'! Phone contact (eventually) is with Manilla - charming people but no clue about how M&S cards work Reviewed on: 20th November 2024

Absolutely hopeless.

Absolutely hopeless. I stopped using the card for several months as their support although polite is useless. I recently tried to log on and the online help does not help as is the case with their helpline. The unfortunate operator was simply reading from scrpts and had no technical knowledge whatsoever. Credit Card Application Nightmare

This morning, I spent 45 minutes attempting to speak to an advisor at MandS Bank on the following numbers without success: 0800 997 996 0345 600 5860 Whilst I am able to connect to their telephone automated system, each option ultimately requests that I enter my digital banking details? If I was an existing client I would but as a potential customer, it is impossible. I have gone as far as trying to locate an email address and/or on-line form. Such actions have also proven fruitless. Has the whole business world decided that customer, indeed, potential business means nothing these days? All I want to know is whether a Credit Card Plus application has an outcome? Their acknowledgement email (yes they used email) stated that it would take up to 5 working days for an outcome. It has been 6 working days and I really would like to know the outcome of my application at this time. Does anyone know how to make contact or should I jump on a bike and search for ET.
