Account opening at Mansfield building society

I was informed about Mansfield's offering of a one year fixed rate bond. This was something I had been enquiring about for some time. I was able to go out to the branch and open one with ease, with the help of staff who are helpful friendly and knowledgable. I was so pleased with my experience that I opened another one when the next issue was released. Reviewed on: 9th August 2023

Switch to online accounts difficult

I was pleased to see that Mansfield have set up online accounts as it is hard for me to go in to the branch nowadays. However when I went in and asked to switch my accounts to the online versions I had to close the account then walk across town to payn the cheque into my bank then apply online. in the event I found my bankoffered a better rate of interest on an equivqlent product so I used that instead. Investing in fixed rate accounts

Great service by the BS, however I have had to go to the Sutton branch as there were no appointments available at Mansfield, and I live in Mansfield. However both branches staff are fantastic, knowledgeable and very helpful. Reviewed on: 9th August 2023

Cheating on interest rates for savers.

Regular saers should pay more than the best instant access accounts - Mansfield RS used to but too much cheating I.e. not putting up rates when BOE do or putting them up less BOE - claiming no doubt ti be looking after morgage payers - no body thought about savers when morgage rates were cheap. No body cares that savers pittance interest rates are way below inflation Reviewed on: 8th August 2023

We constantly review our rates to ensure we remain competitive and react to market conditions and we are increasing variable rate savings accounts on 1st September having previously increased rates on 1st June. Whilst the majority of our rates are not directly linked to the Bank of England Base Rate we are sorry to hear that on this occasion you didn’t feel that we were competitive.
