Good for small businesses

I have had an account for a year on the recommendation of someone with a small business. The way it creates invoices is so helpful. I like the tax pot sweep. My business is tiny and non-profit making so I really appreciate that it does not charge me. Reviewed on: 18th March 2026

Free, well-designed, and MTD-ready

It's free, user-friendly, well-designed, and not clunky like most of the old dog banks. Also comes with FreeAgent is a massive bonus as it means I can be MTD-compliant too. The only drawback is with international bank transfers, but I'm hopeful they will introduce that at some point. I love that they've significantly lowered the barrier to entry for small businesses with their (actually fair) freemium model, which makes me more than happy to pay for features I actually need (for example, international bank transfers). I opened a Mettle business account when I started my own business. The app is excellent and easy to use. The fact that FreeAgent came with the account was a real bonus!
