Great app - appalling customer service

I absolutely love mt Monzo app which is so easy to use. However, when things go wrong I seriously question why I stay with this bank. The customer service team are intensely annoyingly smug and patronising. Further, I've had to waste time over and over again explaining what the issues are and feel I might as well be talking to children. Reviewed on: 24th January 2020

Always a winner

I use Monzo as my main bank account now, having first used it for when travelling abroad. I find the app so easy to use and I love the instant notification of money going in and out of the account, the budget pots, the extra pots for saving and how easy it is to share bills, send and receive money (all our grown up children and their partners now have Monzo too!). And if there’s ever a problem their instant chat service is wonderful! Problems resolved in no time at all. My husband and I have now opened a joint account as we are so impressed with the wide range of functions available to us. Reviewed on: 24th January 2020

Great bank and security is number 1

Monzo seems to be a top class bank and the customer service is amazing I have rated them 5 stars every year I’ve been with them. Security is also very tight and okay the temporary account hold can be hard work but once your in contact with the customer service and provide details of whatever it was that flagged the account. I’ve only had this happen once when a large amount was paid in to my account. One little niggle is charge backs are hard work at times when paying for something which didn’t arrive and then having to go through the process of providing screen shots of the invoice etc and emails to the merchant. The chargebacks take a lot longer than a high street bank but of course Monzo do not have branches and all is done online. Current accounts, joint current accounts and investments are good. The savings pots are a good idea but interest rates aren’t huge but this is expanding a lot. Reviewed on: 24th January 2020
