Smart wheels is a money generator

More than insurance is a total scam! My student daughter is in tears with this company they are a disgrace, this smart wheels policy they offer is a cash generator, £180 for 500 extra miles, 108 miles into this 500 extr they sent her a notice of cancellation, only two month of her policy to go, a phone call later and they now want £290 extra for 1000 more miles!!!!!!! Apparently the 500 she purchased is now not acceptable to them?!? So unless she she agrees to an additional 1000 they are cancelling the policy! You gits! They kept her on the phone telling her if she hung up the quote would increase, she put Lewis on hold and phoned me in tears, they would not allow us to pay the extra in a lump sum to save her the stress, the payment had to come from her account? She is a student ffs and struggling as it is you slimy money makers, they refused to send her the updated quote saying it was against company rules to share that information? Go on tell me why? How can a company refuse to send a quote or invoice for a policy extra? Where is the money going. It sounds to me that the team at moron sorry more than are on commission for extras, it all seems to double glazing salesman to me, why does she have to pay now? Window salesman tactic, why will the price go up if she does not pay now? Window salesman tactic, why can your team not send a revised invoice/ quote? Conning salesman avoiding VAT tactic, why only accept debit card payments? Window salesman tactics or someone fearful of a chargeback! Cash is king now how about a new front door? Morons sorry more than is scamming inexperienced youngsters! Avoid at all costs do not be fooled it is not worth the stress. Note to more than we will join any joint court action against you now you have caused my daughter and us so much stress and money, in my opinion you have tricked us and Mis sold her this policy after her inputting her information. At the start she told them her family home is in one city but was a student at a university in another, so she was living away from home of course, they understood that and continued with the quote, months later they contacted her saying her policy was incorrect and the vehicle was not being kept at the family home, they were aware of that! But penalised her for that fact after being made aware and the correct section of the quote being filled in saying all that. She is studying aviation and also told them she would be driving at odd hours including early AM they were ok with that at the time of the quote but not after! They shafted her score what ever that is saying she was driving at unreasonable hours and penalised her score? They were aware to start with! You tell me how driving very early in the morning is more risky than at peak times? They also said repeatedly at the time of selling the policy that she would need a black box they repeatedly told her it would only need to be on for six months! You lying gits! I demand you stop telling people that because that is a lie! That is not correct and your team are telling people that but when it comes to it they are learning the hard way. I do not like the way you also cancel policies so easily! You are ruining young people's lives acting in that way! You not only damage the credit history and policy that shows as being cancelled effects future quotes! So if this is a way of increasing prices year on year then I hope some government body screws you over good and proper you damn well deserve it. Stop acting like crooks be honest and open! Yes money is all you are after I understand that but go about it the correct way! Me and my family will now not use more than or any company associated with it ever again! Cancelled my car insurance policy with no notice at all! Said documents had been uploaded online which I explained there system doesn’t let me view online documents and comes up with an error message each time saying server exception! Reviewed on: 8th January 2020

I hate this company

More than smart wheels will take every penny they can from you, while having some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The app is rubbish and crashes every time I use it, and they threatened to cancel my policy because I was parking my car in a different postcode to the one stated, when in reality it was ten metres from my stated address. Talking to them on the phone is a painful and fruitless task, and I've spent a small fortune on topping up my miles after getting a job in a different county. If you have any choice, steer well clear of this horrible, exploitative company. Reviewed on: 14th December 2019

Change of insurance

Totally useless!!! 5 phone calls ( each time having to explain what needed).Put on hold several times, got cut off several times and also tried online which also crashed. Only wanted to change my insurance onto a new car....surely that's an every day occurrence in insurance?? Very unprofessional, will never use company again. Overseas call centre. MORE-THAN BLACK BOX INSURANCE- BEWARE !!! DO NOT.. DO NOT TAKE OUT BLACK BOX CAR INSURANCE FOR A NEW DRIVER WITH MORE THAN !!! WE TOOK OUT THIS INSURANCE FOR OUR SONE AND HE HAD A DRIVER IN SLOW TRAFFIC BRAKE IN FRONT OF HIM WHICH CAUSED HIM TO TOUCH HIS BUMPER AT AROUND 3 MPH ( according to the telematics black box), THIS WAS A CRASH FOR CASH SCAM YET MORE THAN HAVE PAID OUT THE FRAUDSTER ALMOST £3500.00 FOR A SCRATCH ON A BUMPER AND GET THIS...... ALL WITHOUT NOTIFYING MY SON AT ALL UNTIL WE ASKED AT RENEWAL WHY HIS PREMIUM WAS SO HIGH !?!!!! MORE THAN WILL PAY OUT CLAIMS WILLY NILLY AND NOT LET THE POLICYHOLDER KNOW... Scam

My 18 year old sons insurance was cancelled without us being informed, we are down £250, it was one excuse after the other from the unprofessional staff at the call centre, we received no straight answers. DO NOT CHOOSE MORE THAN!

If you're a young driver and choose to go with More Than Smart Wheels because they look cheap, DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE!! Their black box was inaccurate and unfair multiple times, if you need extra miles expect to pay out a huge chunk! (in my case, £670 added onto my policy for 4000 extra miles due to new job further away). I eventually cancelled with them 9 months into my policy because I found a more cost effective company WITHOUT black box, to then get a letter from More Than saying I owe almost £400! I rang up and they confirmed all my payments had been made, but I had outstanding payment on the extra mileage I took out, which was NOT mentioned to me when taking out extra miles or cancelling my policy. Spent 20 minutes arguing and got nowhere with my CASE. I enquired about filing a complaint form and they said for it to be acknowledged it would have to go further and include court, and as a young driver that's normally something no teenager can afford or want to face!! AVOID AND SPEND THAT LITTLE BIT EXTRA ON A COMPANY WHO WON'T SCREW YOU OVER!! Reviewed on: 31st October 2019

DO NOT USE!! Shocking company and very dodgy. When you get near to renewal the black box starts issuing speeding notices and they use these to then increase your premiums. They refuse to investigate or give full details of the mystery offence. Might be ok as a one off but it’s not really worth the cost of having the black box fitted and removed. DO NOT USE MORE THAN SMART WHEELS Especially if you’re one of the MANY young people that parents live separately and you spend half you time at each address. Apparently i’m not allowed to stay at my dads overnight anymore or they will cancel my insurance because the car isn’t at my home (mums) address every evening!! How is this fair? I live half and half as most of us do but I register everything to my mums address, Its disgusting and i feel discriminated against. They send you threatening emails and letters through the post.. i’m sorry but how is the fact my parents are not together anymore my fault?? Also, they wont let you change your direct debit date (if you have to pay monthly) to make it more convenient for you & they won’t tell you the cancellation costs of your policy, so you can explore different options instead of staying with them & having to deal with their extremely rude customer services, unless you actually cancel. They are the worst insurance company I’ve ever come across, no empathy, no understanding, no “treat each customer as an individual” just “Follow our rules exactly or we’ll threaten to cancel your policy which will ruin your chance of getting car insurance again” attitude. Trust me, even if it is the cheapest quote.. PLEASE pay the extra, it is not worth the stress or anxiety it causes. I wouldn't even give them a star if i could. More Than Smart Wheels, you are the WORST car insurance company about & i will be posting this on every review site to hope that other young drivers are not trapped for a year feeling that they do not have the freedom having a car should bring them.
