Double your premiums each year

More Than hook you by initial low premiums but then double them at each renewal. Mine sit at £70 for 2 cats age 5 which is £840 a year. It was £9 when I started. Their customer service can’t explain these hikes either, they blame the underwriter who you can’t contact. Very poor. As other reviewers have said this industry needs more closely regulated. Wouldn't recommend

My old dog was euthanised because of an organ tumour. Due to her age there was an excess of 150 plus 20% of claim. Not a problem . Euthanasia isn't classed as vet fees. It is farewell cover. I had that but it has a total payable of Â£150. So for a policy of 1062.39 per year. The costs were 903.01 more than paid 677.71 Euthanasia was lumped into farewell cover so euthanasia 76.44 cremation 130 left me with a bill of 56.44 because total allowed is Â£150 Since when is euthanasia not a vet fee? I asked them and more than had no answer. All this is in their terms and conditions but not in any paperwork sent with their renewal. I've had insurance with them for many years on all my dogs. over 100% increase this year!!!

My dog is just 8 yrs old, have been with "more than" (never a truer word said) since she was a puppy. Yes she has health problems, but my insurance payments have reflected this. 3yrs ago insurance Â£75 a month, last year Â£108.44 a month - Â£1,301.28 a year this year wanted Â£2,719.57 - Â£22.64 and this with being nearly up to limit with one condition which meant would not be covered by insurance!! So have had to cancel as silly money, have new insurance but this does not include pre existing conditions so have started a new vets fees bank account! Reviewed on: 31st January 2018

UNREASONABLE ANNUAL INCREASES

took out for life cover with More Than on my new puppy long hair Chihuahua 4 years ago. He is now 4. First year very reasonable. Second year went up by 46%, year three up by 56% now year 4 up by 66% so nearly a £1,000 per year. My parents had two Chihuahua's which lived to age 19.5. Therefore, based on More Than percentage increases year on year I'll need a mortgage to pay future year policy prices. Complaining is a waste of time. Pet insurance pricing needs to be policed more closely. This is a totally over priced abused service and More Than are the biggest abusers. I wouldn't recommend More Than Pet insurance and feel guilty to those I did recommend to in year one before I realised what a terrible company they are. If your pet has a life-long condition like My dog you are tied to your existing pet insurance company. The annual cost is more than double the annual vet costs but if I opted to pay the vet bills for his existing condition I'm confident More Than wouldn't decrease my renewal by 66% so it's Hobsons Choice. Please do not take out a policy with More Than Pet Insurance and worn family and friends not to either. Reviewed on: 13th November 2017

Ridiculously expensive

I never claimed on my insurance and my premium doubled despite the fact my dog is healthy and only a 14 months old. I've changed companies as I'm disgusted that they wanted so much money. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017

Peace of mind

More than has given us peace of mind & covered the cost of my dogs operations when he was ill which we were so grateful for. The process was stressfree & I always recommend more than to other dog owner. My only negative is our premium has shot up massively over the past 2 years. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2017

Very good cover
