SHOCKING FINANCE COMPANY - Complicit in Selling Unsafe Vehicles Rating: (1 Star) Review: BEWARE: If you are considering using MotoNovo Finance, be warned that they will utterly abandon you if the car you buy has problems, even dangerous ones. I financed a car from Motorvana (Stockport) through MotoNovo. The vehicle had multiple critical defects from day one, including illegal tyres, a cracked alloy wheel, and failing safety systems. As the finance provider, MotoNovo is jointly liable under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 to help resolve these issues. Instead of helping, MotoNovo’s complaints process has been a masterclass in delay and obstruction. For over four months, they have: - Repeatedly ignored the severity of the safety-critical defects. - Delayed for weeks without even assigning a case handler. - Refused to authorise repairs or provide a like-for-like hire car, leaving me without safe transport. - Demanded unnecessary evidence after I had to pay for essential repairs myself (like replacing the illegal tyres) to try and avoid reimbursement. - Closed my complaint while the car remains unsafe, offering a derisory £250 gesture that doesn't even cover a fraction of my costs or distress. They have failed in their regulatory duty under the FCA's Consumer Duty (PRIN 2A) to avoid foreseeable harm and act in my best interests. Their inaction has made them complicit in the dealership's sale of an unroadworthy vehicle. Choosing MotoNovo Finance removes your most important legal protection. They are not on your side. They will side with the dealer and leave you stuck with a faulty car and mounting costs. I am now forced to escalate this to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Dangerous finance company

Worst company going. We've been dealing with a complaint since January which somehow keeps getting closed. You've left us still with an unsafe car with a 2 year old. We've made multiple complaints which gets no where as our complaint handler is constantly off. We've wasted over £300 in fuel and parts and travelling to garages for the car to get fixed and the dealership pays for it. The brakes are faulty. The computers is extremely trippy and best bit is the ac is constantly hot causing the car to over heat as the computer doesn't read the ambient air temperature sensor correctly making it -5⁰ all the time. I've never ever shouted or got annoyed down before, I'm usually telling my husband to calm down. But your service has made my stress levels so high I've quite literally lost the plot and hope with finance and customer service. Multiple garages have stated its unsafe and to get rid of it ASAP. However you still want us to spend money we don't have to get proof from a mechanic that it's faulty, which we already have done before. You're truly the worst finance company I've ever delt with. Absolute waste of space

These jokers have ripped me of numerous times. Firstly the car they financed was declared dangerous due to some defects which the dealership were wriggling out of paying. Under section 75 I knew I could as motonovo as my finances to assist. Motonovo promised me the world a few days later it was a nope we are not helping. Eventually sorted myself. Around 2 years later I wanted to place a private plate on the car motonovo told me there is a £30 charge and that the change could only be done over the phone when I telephoned weeks later the change was done for free when the change was confirmed as done I enquired about the £30 and the agent said there's no charge and said he couldn't understand why I hd been told there was a number of months later I asked for a early settlement figure which I paid in full - they failed to honour so I need up paying more money. AVOID MOTONOVO IF YOU VALUE YOIR CREDIT FILE

Having had 9 months of sheer hell because of Motonovo screwing my credit file and then having the brass neck to offer £100 pounds compensation and finally notifying the credit reference agencies of THIER mistakes my credit file was finally updated correctly - At long last I had finally got rid of the vehicle financed by Motonovo and funded the new vehicle via their competitor - Motonovo were PAID the final balance - Did they bother to update the credit agencies that my account had been settled NO so once again my credit score is dropping Motonovo rang me up once I complained and assured me the matter was being dealt with - what a crock of S—T, total lies as always. Was assured it would be rectified in 72 hours - a week later still not sorted. Motonovo are happy to give out finance but the moment there is an issue through no mistake of your own they batter your credit file - it took 9 long months for Motonovo to admit they had made a mistake - am I going to suffer another 9 months of hell ???? Charge the earth in interest, especially when you fall on hard times, ask questions that's not their business. When you find yourself back on your feet they want more and constantly phone you even though your paying off the debt. Go elsewhere for finance, bunch of criminals. Reviewed on: 15th December 2021

If you Value Your Credit Rating Avoid Motonovo Like The Plague

Yet again this company has screwed my credit file - my payment was 3 days late which I fully accept was my own fault for not checking whilst working away but the payment did go through 3 days later - did this company report it as a late NO reported as a missed payment even though they had taken payment, then take the next payment and still report the payment in arrears - 7 Months I had to wait till they correctly amended my credit file last time due to Motonovo's own incompetence whereby a reporting tag had not been removed from my file and have a letter from them confirming there mistake - If you want to protect your credit file do not use this company whatsoever they are a joke and I cannot wait till they get their comeuppance with the FCA Reviewed on: 2nd December 2021

Shambolic company

Got in financial difficulty during pandemic as lost my job, have now got back on my feet and have been paying back debt and more than enough to cover arrears. £600 in the last month only for them to keep adding interest every month. Do Not Take Finance With MotoNovo

Motonovo screwed up my husbands Credit file despite bringing his account completely up to date 6 weeks ago and still reporting that his credit file is 4 payments in arrears. After a year not being able to work due to the pandemic he has just starting to get back to work only to have jobs pulled due to his credit file as he needs to be able to prove he can fund the work etc. Motonovo never informed him of any arrears and the DD was in place at the bank for them to take. He hasn't got out of bed now for last 4 days and I suspect suffering with the onset of Depression due to the loss of work - something he has never once displayed. MotoNovo you are a disgrace - he has posted comments on Trust Pilot and all you ever respond is with your usual response and when he forwards the relevant information you do nothing about it. DO NOT TAKE OUT FINANCE WITH THIS COMPANY - WE ALSO HAVE FINANCE WITH SANTANDER WHO HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT Reviewed on: 5th May 2021

Service completely unacceptable

Service completely unacceptable. I used this company for a new car They cleaned my car and really damaged inside. Made promise to make things right in person, but then ignored me. Made a complaint and as no evidence I didn’t damage car and the promise were verbal will do nothing about it! If you have any problems, even within the last 6 months, the ombudsman can help you and it’s completely free independent service that will put things right for you: complaint.info @ financial-ombudsman.org.uk caroline.wayman @ financial-ombudsman.org.uk Please report company also to FCA, as they will keep log of everything wrong this company is doing: christopher.woolard @ fca.org.uk Finally, make a SRA request. All you have to do it ask. They legally have to provide you will all details on file they have about you. You can then see all the mistakes they’re making behind the scenes as well, which will help towards your complaint. Reviewed on: 7th July 2020
