Just like a local coffee shop

As a rule, going into a High Street Bank can be foreboding and oppressive but going into the Newbury Building Society is like going into the local coffee shop (but without the coffee) for a chat with friends. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2024

Friendly, knowledgeable advice on savings accounts

Ken at the Newbury branch was very helpful when I was looking for alternative savings accounts. Asked questions, showed options and made the process easy. We made an appt for the following week, and after deciding on options, opened 2 accounts. Passbook for one arrived the next day in the post, the ISA transfer will take longer but should be finalised soon. No high pressure sales, just solid advice for our requirements. ISA transfer request goes astray - and nobody cares!!

My wife and I are trying to transfer £20,000 from her cash ISA to Lloyds bank ISA. Lloyds sent an ISA transfer request in November and again on 15th December but you claim not to have received it. What can I do?? We have a copy of the transfer request form that we can bring in if that would help. Reviewed on: 18th January 2024
