Quick, professional and pleasant

Having come across Newbury BS online, I phoned the Abingdon branch to enquire about opening two savings accounts. An appointment was arranged quickly. The branch itself was welcoming and well maintained with an office for the required privacy to open an account. My consultant (Samantha) was friendly and competent. I knew which accounts I wanted to open, and the process was easy. I was very impressed that all documents were sent to my home address within 24 hours. I hold accounts with a variety of building societies. Based on my own experience with Newbury, I have already recommended opening an account to my husband. Very helpful assistant

I had not made an appointment to open a new account but the staff in Winchester could not have been more helpful. The account was opened within 15 minutes with no problems at all. Brilliantly service. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023

A demanding interview, as it has to be

Opening an account is a slow process these days, but Mrs. James did her best to keep things flowing in spite of a few interruptions. The interrogation was markedly less aggressive than the grilling I endured at Lloyds recently. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023

Opening a new account was so easy

We opened a new Senior Saver Account and it was so easy to do online. The interest rate is very good for an instant access account. I like having a branch nearby if I prefer to visit rather than use the online service. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023

Opening new account

Did this online, was a bit of a long drawn out procedure, took 2 or 3 weeks before I could pay money in, several phone calls, trip to local branch, but got there in end, was worth it for good interest rate ( senior saver) Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023

Great customer service

I've recently opened two savings accounts as a totally new customer and it was great to be able to speak to someone in person for advice and guidance. Other banks have directed me to "internet only" savings accounts. I like the personal touch. Reviewed on: 1st March 2023
