Really friendly, helpful staff and also easy to add funds by internet as well.

I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Good service

Openning Saving Account Online

NBS is a nice building society always helpful. They suggested I open an account online. I registered and completed the process. Then I learned that the account then needs a weeks approval from head office which is a bit antiquated and this is depsite living in the same place and having other accounts. Then I learn you don't get an automatic book to keep a record of your transaction but you are able to request it but if you did open this same account in branch rather than online its automatically issued. Lastly you go in pay in your deposit and find they have to post you the book rather than give it to you. The staff are lovely and stuck to the rules although seems bit bonkers to spend £0.65 or whatever 1st class post costs needlessly. No one had an answer to this just that its the society rules. Staff did NBS proud and stuck to the rules. The rates are probably the best you can get right now so its worth the hassle but its definitely faffy Reviewed on: 13th August 2021

Joining Newbury Building Society Savings

A helpful assistant informed me about saving with the society and how to become a member. She ran through the form which l took away to complete. Having completed the short straight forward form and posted, we had received our passbooks and able to login in to our accounts within the week. Visiting your new premises

Friendly, easy to understand advice
