Poor service / payment standards and website.

Cant get to speak to a real person when wanting to know about a payment. Important point you try to save money on staff costs BUT the bot based assistance was frankly as much as an outside toilet on a spacecraft. Didn't get close to answering my query and just gave a list of common FAQs and hoped my query was covered -- which it was certainly not. Payments [one-off and regular DDs] take ages to come through onto my bank statement -- up to 5 days???? -- in these days of real time settlement/faster payments that is not good enough i'm afraid - put me into a temporary overdraft position on my bank account -- as waiting so long for payment to process -- which i corrected same day so no loss. Come on Paypal there is also so much that could be better on the website -- that words fail me completely. You need to get some proper website developers on board to revamp your website pretty quickly -- feels like a website from the dark ages to be frank. I think the concept of Paypal Credit is a good one -- but execution is very poor across the board. Come on guys -- Paypal is a big well known organisation -- with massive resources to hand -- you should be better than this I'm afraid. And also you need to review interaction with the credit agencies to make sure one off payments made against a Paypal credit account are reflected timeously -- maybe i was just unlucky -- but there should now be daily payment files going across to all three credit ref agencies -- has someone within Credit team looked at this within Paypal??? You are a regulated organisation???? Slow again -- potentially affecting customers credit scores etc. Anyway that's a starter for 10 -- i guess no-one ever bothers to look at these feedbacks within Paypal -- just a guess because the rest of the processes seem so cumbersome and old fashioned for a modern day financial organisation. I’ve had a very positive experience using PayPal Credit. The application process was quick and straightforward, and I appreciate how easy it is to manage payments through the PayPal app and website. Not very good dispute resolution

Its usually ok but recently I opened a case and they said imthey closed it because they didnt hear from me but I didnt receive an email with the request. Further to that I had already provided them with all of the information that I had and they still closed it. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026
