PLEASE AVOID POCKIT!

I opened a pockit account as there are no banks left where I live, and it seemed easy to go to the post office to a pay point to deposit any cash into an account. I only really use the account for small cash deposits and so my parents can transfer money to me to help with food and bills, as I’m a single mum. On Sunday 1st September, my dad put £300 into my pockit account and when I went to transfer the money, a notice came up that my account was under review and I couldn’t access my money and my card is on hold. They requested various documents and information, which I immediately sent to them, and they said it would probably take 2-4 days to complete the review. I had no warning about this. I understand that some monitoring of accounts like this need to take place, but why can I not access the money first. I have emailed repeatedly and tried to find a phone number for them, with no joy. The only response to my emails are automated, and one saying that my money is safe! I have no money now, and no food! There is no other way to contact them. Their customer service is appalling and to only have an email address as a point of contact is ridiculous. I have no access to my money and no end in sight. There is a phone number on the back of my card, which doesn’t work. You are totally at their mercy. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS COMPANY! Reviewed on: 7th September 2024

After months of being paid into my Pockit account by my company they suddenly froze my account and won’t let me access my money. Won’t reply to my emails and after sending of all the documents to prove the payment including wage slips they still have not released it… avoid this company and before you think this won’t happen to you read reviews on here and trust pilot everyone saying the same can’t all be lying Reviewed on: 19th April 2023

very unproffessional bank. they asked me for my selfie and id etc. but still closed my account. they say i fall outside of their risk appetite. this is a lie because ive never gone into debt. my account had always been in debit. these small banks are not very good. thats why they have so many bad reviews. I am a single mum of two children who is desperate to sort her account due the negative affects this is having to mine and my childrens life's then today POCKIT have told me if you send more than one email they class this as SPAM.. Please avoid yourself this Heartache and stress this bank really doesn't care. I have asked my email be changed this was not done, so now they say my reviews are fake. I can see there's endless people having these problems. I have asked my account either be unlocked or closed and funds immediately be transferred to another account. I have also spoken to the financial Ombudsman and also the FCA and provided them with all the evidence to support my complaint. They are extremely keen to hear from people in the same position. I have tried to contact pockit for over two weeks sent approximately 58 ticket requests in excess of 79 chat messages and also in excess of 51 emails. To have no response..... I have explained in detail my situation. They have all the information they requested this has been sent on three separate occasions. They have also authorised my benefits payment. So clearly they are still accepting payments. I have been recommended to continue emailing etc and the two separate investigation departments will honour my complaint Maybe by writing this they might sort this out. Shocking Bereavement Team - Poor Customer Service

Trying to complete a bereavement process, every obstacle has been placed in the way, including excuses of fuzzy documents that every other bank seems to be able to read fine, to outright lies of not receiving emails. There is a very good reason they do not have a customer phone number, as they are able to control traffic in by ignoring communications. Reviewed on: 5th December 2022
