Great until you make a claim

Stay away from this insurance!! The reason why they offer cheap insurance is because they don't fight to win claims (which drag over 12 months) and they use cowboy builders to do their repairs through Trinity Claims. I have gone through the worse experience for a water damage which came from my neighbours' bathroom and 14 months later, I am left with no reimbursement of my £500 excess, (as my neighbours insurance said they wouldn't pay and that was that), and a higher home insurance (because I made a claim) with another insurance as I wasn't go through this again, ever! The repairs took 6 months to be finished and were done as cheaply as possible to the lowest standard. This experience caused me a lot of heartache and worries from the summer 2020 through to when the wall was repaired in December 2020 (!)and now, 14 months later, they did not bother letting me know of the outcome until I called them. My messages were left unanswered on the Trinity Claim platform for months and really, I have never come across so many inefficient people under one company! Lesson learnt: if it's too good to be true, don't trust it! Reviewed on: 6th September 2021

Not a transparent servife

I can only tell you about my experience. I had a small important repair job thst needed to be done on my roof.  I put in a claim and was led down the path of a surveyor being sent out only to be told the problem was caused by wear and tear not storm damage. Fair enough but I could have been told on the phone. Ok, a bit inconvenient but fair enough. So I got the necessary repair done but Policy Expert cancelled my insurance because the work wasn't done through them. Bizarre! Remember, with this insurance company it seems to me you can't, in my experience, do any repairs to your house unless the contractor and work are approved by them. I was not told this by their surveyor and in fact he said it was a small job and wouldn't take long for me to get done. Imagine, maybe you have to call in an electrician, approved by them, to change a light bulb in case someone gets electrocuted! It seems laughable.  Reviewed on: 21st August 2021

House Insurance Claim

Due to heavy rainfall and and old felt roof my ceiling collapsed one sunny afternoon 2 weeks ago. I contacted policy expert the following morning and a surveyor texted me within minutes arranging to come over and assess the damage. After a thorough assessment I was informed of the amount that would be paid to me within 2 days the money had been paid into my bank account which was really pleasing. Pay cheap you get cheap

Cheap for a reason they go out there way to pay out as little as possible or not at all, Claims are dealt with by Trinity Claims formally Trinity M Ltd who string out claims for as long as possible, in my case 19 months. Legal cover is free for reason as it looks good when taking out insurance but not worth the print. Leave Policy Expert a bad review on Trustpilot and they reply with complete rubbish, the reason for this is they take no responsibility for the way in which they treat customers who they have left to cover the cost themselves. You might as well have no home insurance at all. Worst Insurance company I have ever dealt with but quick enough to take your money. Reviewed on: 28th June 2021

Worst insurance company

Would not recommend this company it's cheap for a reason they go out their way to pay out as little as possible if they pay out at all leaving you to cover cost yourself. Customer care is none exsistent, biggest mistake I made putting my Home Insurance with them. Claims dealt with by Trinity Claims also known under Trinity M Ltd who are the worst, Legal Cover is not worth the print as no ideal on property law. Only have to read reviews left by customers who have been left paying out themselves on Trustpilot. Take no responsibility for appalling way in which they treat customers, only interested in taking your money, as your are not covered for anything under the small print in policy. Incompetent handling of my Key Cover Policy

I purchased annual Key Cover with my house and contents insurance on 8th June with a start date of 17th, on receiving my olive documents and information leaflets it became apparent that I had not received the Key Fob that I have to register and attach my keys to. I contacted Policy Expert only to (eventually) told that they had not passed my details onto Key Cover so Key Cover have not sent our a key fob as they are unaware that I am a policy holder!! I was not given any assurance that my details would be passed to Key Cover today so who knows how long I will wait for my key fob. If my keys are lost or stolen or I lock myself out if my car or home who knows if I’m coveted despite having paid my premium over a week before the policy start date. The individuals I spoke to at Policy Expert were very polite however someone did not do their job properly so I would not recommend this company . Reviewed on: 17th June 2021
