Poor service, slow claims process, rising premiums

With insurance, there are limited interactions upon which to base your judgment. My experiences with Purely Pets thus far have generally been unfavourable. In fairness, the premiums seem competitive for the level of cover - although we will only truly be able to assess that if/when they pay out on a claim! However, they have increased the premium aggressively in year two, despite our pets being young, healthy (no prior claims) and kept indoors. They increased our premiums further when we told them we had moved (from West London to home counties and the pets never leave the house, so it's hard to see what possible change there could be to the risk profile). And now to my ongoing claim. Purely Pets don't pay for treatment up front so you are already having to incur expenses and wait to claim back. Then they have busted through their already lengthy claim assessment period with nothing but standard, identically worded text messages in the meantime, telling me not to worry. I sent a message to follow up and they have busted through their timeframe for responding to that too! Will they ever respond? Will they ever process my claim? The customer service is slow to non-existent and the fervour with which they increase premiums is another bad sign. (My claim has not yet been assessed, so this review is not influenced by a good or bad result). Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

FAST EFFICIENT NO FUSS SETTLEMENT OF PET INSURANCE CLAIMS

Purely Pets gave me a fantastic A Star service when our Lab was attacked by another dog. With first class communication and service, we were assured and comforted when we were in distress and they went above and beyond, ensuring our claim was settled quickly and with minimum fuss. I've been with pearly pets for going into two years now I had a little dog who had to be seen at the vets for a few months and the insurance people paid up his vet bills they kept me informed of everything that was going on when I had to speak to them over the phone they are so friendly and very helpful and understanding I have two more dogs insured with them and I have every confidence in them that if I need them that I can call on them to help with my vet bills I definitely recommend them to my friends Reviewed on: 11th September 2020

AMAZING SERVICE

Purely Pets have been amazing! This was one of the best policies I could find for the money and was very easy to set up. Having never had to claim on pet insurance before, I have definitely made up for it this year!! In May my dog unfortunately broke her leg, shortly after I took out the policy, and had to have a plate fitted as her bone was so badly shattered. The break was healing nicely, but when she had her splint removed it had rubbed on her pad causing a nasty bacterial infection, which then also had to be treated 3-4 days a week over 3 weeks. All the bills put through by the two veterinary surgeries, these were processed quickly and paid directly to the them. I was notified at every stage of the claim process and have just been notified by text that the final payment has been made. So, one less stress for me and hopefully never to be repeated! All I can say is thank you so much Purely Pets and I would recommend you to all my friends! Reviewed on: 11th September 2020
