People who know what they are doing

Out of every bank/ building society that I deal with Saffron actually help the best they can. Whether it is answering questions or putting you along the right path. You don't get lost in a giant computer system as you can talk to people who know what they are doing. Reviewed on: 17th August 2024

Great customer service

I’m really pleased that we stuck with Saffron for our next mortgage. The service I’ve received has been brilliant. Every time I’ve spoken to someone over the phone, they’ve always been really helpful. Then Leon Walker from the retentions team has given fantastic service from start to finish getting our mortgage sorted! Reviewed on: 6th August 2024

The mortgage process was inefficient and laborious

The process to open an expat buy to let mortgage with you was horrible. The requirements kept changing or being added to. We weren’t able to speak directly with you, which feels incredibly impersonal and just added even more to the inefficiency of it all, meaning any question took a week to answer. For the amount of money we paid you in fees, we should have had the direct dial of a liaison that helped manage the whole process. After finally getting the mortgage, I spoke to someone to get the online account open and they were extremely helpful, what a contrast! Reviewed on: 5th August 2024

Mortgage switch

Despite a letter going astray, once I contacted Saffron they dealt with my mortgage switch quickly and efficiently by email and online. Reviewed on: 5th August 2024

Keep checking rates people!

My initial mortgage rate was secured by a broker so easy first time round, but second time round not so much. The Customer services team are very good and helpful but I'm not impressed that now I have agree a new fixed rate which will start in November that it is down to me to regularly check the mortgage rates available between now and then?! Surely Saffron should advise you if a lower rate becomes available? Not great customer service that could potentially cost a lot each month if you are not vigilant and keep checking.
