Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

Exemplary customer service and competitive pricing

I have insured my car for over 10 years with Saga Insurance and have always found their prices to be very competitive but, almost as important, their customer service team over the telephone to be kind, patient and considerate - which, frankly, is almost as important to an elderly person than the price alone. Thankfully I have not had (as yet) cause to make a claim against my insurance, but I have no doubt that were I to do so my claim would be sensitively and speedily dealt with. Problem solved
