Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

I HAVE BEEN WITH SAGA FOR MANY MANY YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THEM TO BE VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL AND COMPETITIVE IN THE MARKET PLACE. SAGA WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING WHEN I WAS REVIEWING THIS YEARS CAR POLICY WHEN I EXPLAINED THAT I FELT I HAD BEEN UNFAIRLY TREATED WITH RENEWING MY PREVIOUS YEAR'S CAR POLICY AND WHEN THEY UNDERSTOOD THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND LOOKED INTO HOW LONG I HAD BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER WITH THEM THEY PUT IT RIGHT STRAIGHT AWAY FOR ME. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I FEEL MY LOYAL CUSTOM IS DEFINITELY VALUED BY SAGA. I HAVE NO QUALMS AND ARE VERY HAPPY IN STAYING WITH SAGA FOR MY CAR INSURANCE FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE. Qualifying my credentials for car insurance returned a quick, low premium I was not expecting with mu cover level choices that were quite generous and was not prepared for the competitive result. Hearing reports from others that their claims have been honored with reliable repairs and less inconvenience I thought they must be genuine and more appreciative of the greater number of over 50's that are far more sensible and careful when it comes to driving.
