Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

Friendly efficient service

I have two vehicle policies with Saga. I have always found their service efficient, correspondence is clear and the premiums are competitive. I recently wanted to make a couple of alterations to the policies and this was dealt with over the phone easily. Reviewed on: 13th August 2025

The real saga experience

A pizza delivery motorcycle driver ran into the back of my parked car. I was unable to get a hire car from saga , they said I had to contact the other party, it was a nightmare for me not what I expected from them, it took ages to repair.. no point complaining they just shrug you off. Very good car insurance at a very reasonable price

I found it was easy to arrange Saga car insurance and the cost of the policy was very reasonable for the level of cover provided. Then the renewal price was actually slightly less than the previous year's premium - hard to believe really, but it was. Reviewed on: 13th August 2025
