Friendly bank

Good account if you have decent money in

Really good account if you have money in as you get a good rate also cash back if you pay bills by direct debit. However if your savings dwindle and because you pay a monthly fee of £5 you neen to consider if its worth it Reviewed on: 26th January 2018

top notch banking

I've banked with Santander since I was 17 years old and have never thought once about switching (I'm 30 now!). Great customer service, user friendly online banking and a bank you can really trust with fraud protection! Reviewed on: 26th January 2018

It was good until...

I've been with 123 Santander account for a few years. Initially it was great - the interest on my savings beat the savings account out there. However, now they have raised the fee of the account, it's not as much as a saving. Also, when someone tried to use my bank details, they blocked my account (which I guess was good) but didn't bother telling me (which was not great when I needed money!), I ended up recieving £100 in compensation as a result. Now that I've bought a house, and don't have much savings, I don't get as much interest and not reaping the rewards. I'm thinking of changing bank accounts. Reviewed on: 24th January 2018

Blocked Account!

I have my account blocked because I changed my address and I give them my new one, they didn't bother to ask me my previous address and they put a sticky note on my account. To correct that I had to go to the bank with my ID and card or bank statement. I had to wait for ages as usual when they call other branch or something like that, and they put me answer some security question about some money coming into my account, I explained to them that is my wage that is coming every 4 weeks, and they no, it is coming at irregular times and they need a proof of wage. I come with it and they put me on hold, to wait for their phone call, don't know why. They said they will call me that day or the day after. Those days passed and I am still waiting. Good interest rates on the 123 current account

Whilst the interest rate has reduced on the 123 current account compared to when it first started, and monthly fees are higher, I feel it is still a great account compared to others when considering the interest rate on savings up to £20k. I liked how Santander were transparent about all changes, staff are helpful in the branches, and the internet banking is quick and easy to use. Reviewed on: 20th January 2018
