We used a Mortgage Broker to apply for our mortgage so did not deal directly with SBS, however, both our Mortgage Broker and Solicitor could not praise SBS highly enough. SBS responded very quickly to queries at critical points in our purchase. We were able to find a mortgage product that suited our needs perfectly at a good rate. The welcome phone call from customer service to welcome us as new customers is something we have not had before and were pleasantly surprised. We are very satisfied customers. there were difficulties in the initial processes

there were difficulties in the initial processes in communication. This caused unnecessary delays which could have been avoided there seemed to be so many people involved in the decision making process at SBS end of the arrangement. Reviewed on: 10th June 2024

The application process is very outdated

The application process is very outdated and of a legacy nature. Everything seems to be done via post with no modern online elements like other lenders. The process to sign documents and setup direct debit has too many opportunities for error and mistakes. The communications were okay in terms of providing important information though. Theres also no way to track mortgage payments or balances via an app or through online banking which in 2024 is difficult to accept. Reviewed on: 10th June 2024

Quick response to our enquiry

Basically we had a quick response to our enquiry so we were able to proceed with the application. Scottish BS was the only financial institution that considered us for a remortgage. Reviewed on: 7th June 2024
