About this product

Financial literacy starts from an early age, which is why Starling offers its childrens Kite card from the age of 6 to 16. Complete with a Kite debit card, dedicated app, and integration with an adult account, children can get spending savvy while adults set personalised safety controls. Great that they get their own space, with a debit card for withdrawing cash and making payments online, but all visible by me, and with good controls. They get their own app, so they can check the balance at any time. The only real drawback is the lack of functionally like direct debits, for example for paying a mobile phone bill. One card became three

Got one originally for my daughter so she can spend money and monitor it via her phone app. It also allowed me to have access to it so I can monitor her spending. I since got one each for both my other children as was so pleased with how it was working out for my daughter. It allows them to have more freedom by carrying their own bank card which they can spend money on, without the worry of losing actual money. Reviewed on: 13th March 2024

Excellent accounts and customer service

The Starling Kite accounts have been excellent. The kids are learning to manage their money easily while the customer service is second to none. Starling make everything so easy and the staff are friendly and respectful which is rare these days. Reviewed on: 13th March 2024

Best banking app for children

I love that my daughter can have a space within my account where money can be transferred. She has her own card and an app on her phone so she is able to monitor her banking and spending at an early age. It's great for building skills for later in life. Reviewed on: 13th March 2024

Great product for Kids, flexible, safe, easy to use.

I use Starling personally, for my business, and also for my kids with a Kite account. I used to pay £2/month for my 3 children's Kite account, which I felt was expensive, but the product and ease of use made it worthwhile. I was thrilled when they made it free. All the kids have their own accounts, can spend on a card, track their money, and we can easily transfer back and forth between each of them and our own accounts. Reviewed on: 13th March 2024
