Starling for Foriegn travel

My wife & 1 first used Starling when we took an extended holiday to Singapore (3 days) New Zealand (15 days) & around Australia (88 days). Starling bank current account was superb & we used it all the time in all 3 countries to pay for hotels meals out & tourist venues & to withdraw cash with our Starling bank Mastercard debit card. It gave us extremely favourable rates of exchange & pretty much instant notifications of the sterling equivalent to our iPad Starling App. I couldn't rate it highly enough. We budgeted quite a large sum to finance the trip which we put most into a Starling savings a/c which gave us some interest whilst not used. We then transferred money from Savings to our current when necessary. It was excellent I couldn't rate it highly enough for travelling aboard without needing to take large amounts of foreign currency when we can travel again after the pandemic is over. Modern, simple and secure

From switching 18 months ago to everyday operation, I can't yet fault Starling. I've had none of the communication, computer error, or "failure to keep up with modern life and technology" issues which have always cropped up in banking with the traditional banks over the last 25 years (Santander, Barclays, Coop, Natwest etc..). Online and app banking with traditional banks has generally been a glitchy add-on service, which always eventually defaults to long phonecalls with a series of operatives in call-centres to resolve even the most minor issues. Now I can genuinely do all my regular banking digitally without breaking stride or waiting 20 minutes on a phoneline for problems that could theoretically be resolved with a single secure message or chat, if the right systems and security are in place. Wish I'd moved to Starling sooner

Since moving my current account to Starling, I have experienced only positives - the app is quick and easy to use and I am finding it so much easier to keep track of my expenditure and income. Being able to bank cheques via the app is also excellent (especially this year with the pandemic) I am so pleased I made the change away from a traditional bank which had provided mediocre service at best. Faceless banking with a huge personality

I love being able to manage my banking without having to go into a branch and deal with the queues and constant questions and selling. That is until I need assistance and then I can get a helpful, ‘no problem’ colleague on the end of the phone- no queues, no unnecessary number punching and quick answers.
