New leader in digital banking

I was with first direct for 32 years but have changed to Starling for real-time digital banking on an app that is reliable, cutting edge and quite fun to use. Reviewed on: 19th January 2020

Brilliant

The best bank. The only card that doesn't charge me extra fees when I travel abroad. Other banks do the same but are capped to a limited withdrawal. Customer service has always been top notch. The card arrived quick. The app is slick and responsive. Seeing my money in real time helps me budget. I could never go back to the old way of banking. Reviewed on: 19th January 2020

Everything just works all of the time

Banking for the modern age

Traditional High Street banks are increasingly forcing their customers online. I was a customer of one of the big banks and they closed my incredibly busy local branch. Unfortunately, they just haven’t made the correct investment or focused sufficiently on the digital side of their business to force people to use their online offering. What Starling offer is refreshingly straightforward and easy to use. It’s a bank made from the ground up for the digital age. In addition to their excellent banking app and services, they also have very low and straightforward charges for dipping into your overdraft. I’ve saved quite a bit by making the switch. Bank for today

I have had current accounts at many different high street banks. But none come close to Starling. All banks do the same basic things well, allow me to hold and spend my cash easily. The problem? Most banks like to charge you for when you have no choice. Overseas most banks charge extortionate fees, with fixed rate charges on top of the card rate. Starling, nothing! Most other banks make it hard to send money quickly, requiring a full check to be made. On starling, I can send a link and my friends can deposit their share of the bill into my account. Likewise I can send money to nearby starling users without the need to go through account numbers and sort codes. Oh, and they actually give some interest. More than can be said for most high street accounts and beats most high street saving accounts. Reviewed on: 19th January 2020
