Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Approachable, helpful and non judgemental support

Step Change responded promptly to my application for help. The person who rang me to find out a bit more was friendly, helpful and non judgementally, it was such a relief when they dealt with the creditors setting up a payment plan which could be managed and reviewed online. Very professional and non judgmental. Debts were becoming overwhelming and unmanageable, with the right advice and a step forward from myself, I’m now in control, with a reduced single payment per month to step change who then distribute payments to all my creditors, I’m a step closer to becoming debt free. A great way to manage debt

Easy to set up and communicate with the team. StepChange basically does all the hard work for you and it helped me a great deal as I had a lot of creditors.
