Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

The best thing I've ever done was get Stepchange to take over the way to make my payments to my debtors.It's taken a lot off my mind. I can now relax knowing some of my debts are getting paid regularly. It was a bit hard having to tighten our belts but it has helped us a great deal, not having to worry every time a letter drops through the door. Reviewed on: 1st May 2024

It only takes one phone call to change your life.

I've had my DMP active for over a year now and by the end of 2024 I'll finally be debt free. This wouldn't have been possible without the amazing people at StepChange. Straight from my first initial phone call has been a fantasic experience, everybody I've spoken to has been so supportive and nice and you can generally feel a warmth as you you're talking to people that have your best interest at heart. My favorite part each month is looking at my DMP status and seeing my debts go down, it gives me real motivation to keep going. I encourage anybody that has debts and is worried, to get in contact. Step Change are fantastic
