Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Brilliant, helpful organisation.

I found myself in a very difficult situation, and I felt hopeless. The advisor at StepChange was absolutely brilliant, very professional but caring, and helped me immensely sort my debts out into a manageable monthly payment, and the fact they contact the companies for you is so helpful in managing a very stressful and frankly an embarrassing situation.
