Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I went into debt after a breakdown in my marriage, debt was rising and i was struggling and felt ashamed. I was introduced to step change after speaking to my bank and they put me on a debt management plan. I can finally breathe, it is like a weight lifted off my shoulders and i am forever grateful to Step Change, making those steps certainly improved my mental and physical health, thank you team for looking after me. Just as I was at my whits end with my debt and thought there was no way out. I contacted step change for help. They were great and spoke with me in detail and helped get on the right track. They gave me a number of options and helped me pick the best suited for my situation. Everyone I’ve spoke with are so helpful and I continue to get the help and support from them.
