Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

No more sleepless nights

Stepchange company best help for debt and free

I turned to step change after my partner lost his job due to ill health, and as I am a student, we couldn't pay our two loans and one credit card. We were so stressed, and it affected our mental health. I turned to step-change after a friend recommended them. It was so easy to do it online, and a good website to track my progress and regular emails from staff at step-change to keep in touch about the progress. Finally, the DMP was accepted which made me and my partner relieved. Now our mental health is better knowing our debt is being paid, maybe only a little but we will get there someday. Brilliant service

They lifted the weight off my shoulders

I was struggling incredibly with my debt, feeling there was no way out and being stuck in the constant cycle of minimum payments and interest fees. Step change helped me and put all my debts into one single payment, now my cards and loan are locked/closed and I’m on track to becoming debt free. Couldn’t be happier. Piece of mind

Being in debt is an awfully worrying thing. You constantly fret over money, managing it and keeping everyone happy. But at times it's too stressful and you worry about things getting too much to handle. Step Change have helped me by taking the pressure off. I pay them one payment a month and they sort everything else out for me. They give advice when debt collecting agencies are being arsey, demanding and threatening and make you feel reassured that you're doing all you can. Reviewed on: 7th July 2023
