Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I don’t think words can fully express how grateful I...

I don’t think words can fully express how grateful I am to StepChange. I was in a very dark place, struggling with serious debt and the mental toll that came with it. It reached a point where my wife had to step in and help me manage the situation because I simply couldn’t cope anymore. From the moment I contacted StepChange, I felt supported. They treated me with understanding, dignity, and respect—something that felt rare at the time. Their team didn’t just offer financial advice; they gave me hope and a clear path forward. The burden I carried mentally and emotionally began to lift once I started following the plan they helped me put in place. It’s not an exaggeration to say that StepChange saved my life. My life is back on track, thanks to Step Change!

Step change allowed me to get a grip on my spiralling debt. I was extremely stressed at the thought of sorting it all out, but the phone call was straightforward, although it took time and was in depth, I was so pleased it was finally sorted out.
