Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Absolute Godsend

I got into a lot of debt with cards and couldn’t see a way out. The charges were getting more and more expensive each month and I was really struggling and worried of how I could get through. I had heard of Stepchange before, but had thought in the past I could handle my debt but it kept spiralling. I went on line and it gave me a few options and I settled for the Debt Management. It only took a little while to complete and once submitted, within a short while my plan was in place. Stepchange did everything, so I didn’t need to worry. I’m over 12 months in now and feel a lot better about my debt. I would certainly recommend Stepchange for everyone who is anxious or struggling with debt, they really do help. Saved my life

Really Supportive

I suffer from PTSD from my Army career and got into money problems. I phone StepChange and they have supported me through the 5 year process. They have shown empathy, support and are there to listen anytime you need them. The take all the stress and worries away so you have a better quality of life. Literally a life belt in a sea of depression

Feeling suicidal and depressed after loosing my job and been out of work for 12 weeks I couldn’t keep up with my debt repayments.
