Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Peace of Mind

An excellent Debt Management association to deal with. They give you their time, are sympathetic to your individual circumstances, will advise you of all debt management options, contact all your debtors on your behalf and set up an affordable payment plan which enables you to clear any debts. Step change was helpful.

Step change was helpful. The only thing I am concerned about is that although I am paying the monthly instalment through debt change still I have been putted on default for 6 years on my credit report. Would be great full if that default will be removed from my credit report. Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Life changed and gaining control

Gone from massive financial worry and not knowing where to turn, to where I am now and have never been better. I was so worried about speaking to someone about what I felt was my failures but there was no judgement at all and only the kindest and most helpful people who understood how easy it can be to get in my position, make me feel positive and much better (not a failure) and help me become strong again - can't recommend enough and given you aren't paying for their help, you are truly making a difference and impact on every penny you pay back toward this goal of being debt free- it feels so good, that I don't want to spend on unnecessary rubbish and just feel good.
