I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Most of us have been in debt at some stage in our lives but if it gets to the stage of sleepless nights and irritability with close friends and family there is one telephone call that will get your life back and put you back on track for the rest of your life Firstly like an alcoholic admit to yourself that you're in trouble and need help Secondly phone Stepchange. The staff there are real people and I found that first contact was the start of my journey back to normality. No criticism no sarcasm no lectures simply somebody that understood hhe problem and was keen to help to talk and to discuss the way out of your situation and depression in a way that you made sll the decisions needed to resolve the problem The staff are with iou from Day1 and any call you make is treated with the same care and understanding throughout iour DMP Don't delay just do it Get your life back on track Today !
