Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I was in panic mode when I was made redundant a few years ago and not knowing how I could pay my bills but then I heard about StepChange. They changed my life and sorted everything out for me, got me on a plan which suited my situation. The best help and advice you can ever receive.

Debt can be all consuming, it can be embarrassing, and at times no one to turn to, but speaking with Stepchange was the best thing I ever did. They helped me not only to clear my debt, but educated me on better finance management, which I will always be grateful for. EXCELLENT EMPATHETIC SERVICE.

I have never been in debt in my life and was overwhelmed by the cost of an unexpected funeral on top of the cost of living crisis. I was worried and confused and it was only after talking to one of the many helpful understanding Step Change advisors could I see any way out of my situation He was very caring, empathetic and understanding and discussed the various ways available. On every occasion I have needed to ring Step Change without fail I have received excellent advice in a friendly easy-to- understand way.
