Amazing

Wonderfully supportive and non judgmental

I have gone from sleepless nights and perpetual worry to being able to relax a little more. Whoever you speak to at Stepchange are always reassuring and non judgmental. Our debts are huge and we are over 60 without the possibility of paying the creditors within the next 10 years. Nonetheless Stepchange support us all the way and for that I am eternally grateful. Peace of Mind

About 5 years ago I was made redundant from a senior management role. I have a daughter with very serious heart conditions and struggled to find work that would pay enough to keep on top of things, but give me work life balance. Consequently I ended up in huge debt, defaulting on loans and finance deals etc that had previously been affordable. After a couple of years the stress of being in debt and taking pay day loans and getting further in debt was unbearable! When I contacted Step Change they immediately made me feel like there was light at the end of the tunnel and came up with a realistic repayment plan! I still have a few years to go until myself and my family are debt free, but I no longer worry about it and know that we will eventually clear our debts, whilst still being able to feed and clothe my loved ones without getting further into debt!! A weight off of my shoulders!

I can’t tell you how my life has changed since contacting Step Change. The staff are helpful, non-judgemental, and made me feel completely at ease. I still have my debts but I know each month they are reducing and I can once again open my post without dreading what I’m going to find. There is a plethora of helpful information on the website, but if I need to I can call and speak to someone or email a question.
