Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I was going mad constantly worrying about money. I'm disabled and at times wanted to end it all. My friend told me of stepchange (we'd never had money problems before, but after work drying up and income becoming less and less we found ourselves in a terrible situation). StepChange - a life saver

In 2007 I was drowning in debt. I couldn't see anyway out until I contacted StepChange (then Consumer Credit Counselling Service). I cannot praise them highly enough. Although I still have debt it is stable and since 2007 my anxiety is far lower. The advisors are kind, friendly, understanding and extremely helpful. Their website is easy to navigate too.
