Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I was working full time in London I had several disastrous relationships.This cost me financially and mentally I felt like a failure and was so ashamed and couldn't see a way out. Step change offed me hope listened and understood. I can not thank them enough. So easy to sort everything even in lock down so helpful and understanding. It's awful to see others struggle and I think the staff absolutely have empathy for everyone and every scenario. I felt so out of control I was scared for my own wellbeing. Step chsnge have been amazing and I thanky lucky stars everyday that I picked up the phone and callef them. I was in a very bad way with debt...

I was in a very bad way with debt, burying my head and it was getting worse and worse. Upon entering the website, every single step was extremely easy to follow, my budget was worked out and they handled speaking to my creditors.
