Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

No more sleepless nights.

Many years ago I lost my job because of 9/11 I ended up in terrible debt, worry couldn't sleep , then I contacted the Step Change people for help and advice, they put my mind at ease straight away, advised me what to do, sorted out a payment plan that I could afford at the time, long story short ,the staff was brilliant, none judgemental and helped me out enormously. I’m so happy with my experience. Now I sleep at night.

I was deep in debt with nobody to turn to, A family member told me about stepchange and it’s completely helped me so much it’s a massive weight of my shoulders. I can sleep so much better knowing that I have to pay an amount each month which leaves me with a bit more money than I had when I had all the debt issues.
