Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Got me out of an absolute financial mess

I was in an absolute financial mess with credit cards before I finally approached stepchange, who helped me by approaching my lenders, getting the interest frozen and working out at repayment plan that I could actually afford. Free service, amazing really. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Peace of mind

I was totally overwhelmed and losing sleep over my debts but the fantastic staff and easy to use website, helped to ensure that I have a plan I can comfortably work with. The yearly reviews help you to take stock of your finances - keeping you in control. When you speak to the lovely people at Step change, they never judge you and are always empathetic.
