Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Stepchange took away all my worries ,and dealt with my debts . and decided a plan of payments that I could afford . Very friendly staff. Which meant my interest was stopped on all my credit cards If I need to check on anything ,they will always give me solutions .Thoroughly recommended Reviewed on: 8th May 2026

Very very poor advice got me into very long term debt I would never recommend this service. I should have just gone bankrupt, instead I was stupid and tried to do the 'right thing'. I am very bitter towards this debt service one of the biggest mistakes in my life was to listen to them! Terrible experience and still paying for it now many years later. Reviewed on: 8th May 2026
