Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I was completely overwhelmed with my finances .

So much easier than my anxiety had me believe

I first contacted StepChange on advice from a company I was struggling to keep up payments with. I like that you can start by getting info online before booking a phone call with them. After going through my budget with them I settled on a DMP which was set up quickly and easily. I was never made to feel embarrassed when going over my debts and I’m really glad I got the help I needed. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Step Change - so helpful. Amazing service.

Step Change were so friendly and helpful and professional. I had been so worried about calling but they were amazing. I went from being in total despair to relief and having a light at the end of the tunnel. Every person I spoke to treated me with such respect and didn’t look down on me. They were so kind.
