Before I got in touch with step change I was suffering from depression,anxiety and was not in a very good mental state. All this was caused by my high repayments that I could not afford to pay on my pension. Since receiving help and advice from Step change I feel like a new person. Relief and elation

Great first part second poor

I was medically discharged from the services in 2025, I became housebound and depressed and gambled heavily, losing 10's of thousands of pounds. Stepchange helped by going through a budget, giving me options to repay what I owed, and keeping debt collectors away. They were the first step to recovery for me. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026
