It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish.

It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish. It took 8 days in total. I'm sitting here now a lot happier than I was 3 weeks ago. They put me forward (against their recommendation) for a DRO, which was passed 2 weeks ago, and because I have their backing, I have been able to liaise with my creditors a lot easier, and they have actually helped me due to my underlying health issues. Thank you to them all from Stepchange and also Money Wellness (the people who organised my finances and submitted my DRO application) From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. Life changing

After a few bad years with a lot going wrong in my life I found myself with about 20k debt and just paying interest but not reducing the debt. I realised I would be in serious trouble if I did not seek help. I saw adverts of debt companies offering to consolidate loans but Iit would cost me more money which would have defied the object. I then came across StepChange who offered debt solutions tailored to my needs, to pay back what I owed without ruining my life completely. And most importantly not charging fees, which I would struggle to pay. I completed online forms and listed all my debts separated by priority and non priority debts. They helped me create a realistic budget, recognising where I could cut costs by cancelling subscriptions I didn’t need or didn’t even know I was still paying. If you want to be debt free you have to accept that some things are luxuries, which should not be indulged if you’re in debt. I’ve been paying for 2 years now, I can see my debt reducing and I know I will be debt free in under three years. And that’s feels good. It’s not a shame getting into debt, but it is not doing anything about it. StepChange is the best that could have happened to me and I will be forever grateful for the help I received. I heard about Step Change in a moment that I was so down and afraid banks would call me and ask for the payment.I am that kind of person first will pay all bills first of the month.But cost of living push me to end up searchin for a debt plan.The app is made in a way that will help you every step and make sure you understand each step you have to do it.Question are in a manner that cover even the payments or aspects that you do not normally think adding as expense.Is brilliant done and can help every situation .Make sure you have all details on hand that just have patience and answer the questions.Also they are all the time with you during this process. The absolute best company/charity to deal with.

I was in a mess financially, and my bank actually suggested I contact Step Change. It was the best thing I could have done. The staff at Step Change were incredibly helpful and patient. They turned a really stressful situation into one of the easiest thing. I have nearly finished my debt relief programme, and I couldn't have been looked after better. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

i was at the end of my emotional tether and literally didn't know what to do for the best. I was in a very low place, the worst ever. I could not see a way out. A friend recommended Step Change and what did i have to loose? nothing. after literally 48 hours all the pressure (not responsibility and liability) but pressure of the unknown and impossible immediate future just dissolved and i felt myself again. the literally saved my life !
